We provide clean towels and wash and dry every camper’s bathing suit after each swim session. Campers keep two suits on site so there is never a chance swim suits get left at home.
Campers enjoy fresh hot lunches, prepared daily, on site, in our own kitchen. We serve healthy, kid friendly meals all season long. We accommodate any special dietary needs.
We provide door to door, supervised transportation for campers. Just have your camper ready at the same time every day and be there to get them off the bus. How easy is that!?
We have a Registered Nurse on full time staff to make sure everyone is taken care of properly. If a camper has an allergy, our nurse is there to help manage and administer EPI pens, medications and other special medical needs. The nurse also has a direct line and is available anytime during the camp day.
Camp regulations suggest one counselor per ten campers. Here at Badger, we don’t think that’s enough. Our ratio averages one counselor per five campers, doubling the suggested requirements. For our younger ones, our ratio averages one counselor per three campers.
Each group is led by a Head counselor. Head Counselors are Teachers, Education Students or Lifelong Badgers. Unlike most camps, our counselors are almost all over 18 years old ensuring campers are being taken care of by experienced, responsible leaders. Campers stay with their assigned counselors all day long allowing for trusting bonds to take shape. Almost all of our staff returns each summer, some for as many as 20 years in a row! Part of a camp experience is seeing the same faces, campers and staff alike, year after year. Many of our staff members were campers themselves and many campers can’t wait to become counselors!
